28/04/2018. Sutton United v Aldershot Town. Action from Gander Green Lane. Aldershot Town’s Scott RENDELL scores from the spot

Bloody Hell, it’s the end of April, I took all of my cold weather gear out of the car two weeks ago, (I know bloody fool) not expecting to need it again for a while.  But yesterday at Sutton v Aldershot Town, it was about 8 degrees.  Far too cold for a fleece & jeans, but that was all I had, ok I had my rain proofs, but that was it, by the end of the first half I was frozen (I do have a bit of a problem with Raynaud’s which means I feel the cold worse than most). Anyway the first half of the game was probably the worst 45 minutes of football that I have seen in the last couple of years.

All ready for next week

I have decided that I shall run a remote, behind the goal at the last few games of the season, so with that in mind I ordered a Manfrotto Pixi Evo 2 mini tripod which looks the “mutts”. Time will tell if it  is man enough for the job,  I also have a very well used EOS 1Dx winging it way to me  & I shall stick my 15mm on it and see how we go. Coupled with a couple of PocketWizard Plus III remotes we are good to go.

I am not sure how I will shoot through the match yet, I think 2 CF Cards and remove one at half time, and then the second one post match, or if nothing interesting has happened then just leave it. The only thing that I must remember to do is synchronise all three camera bodies so that the images display in the correct time sequence._PB19768A_PB19764A

Got to love a Derby Match

This weekend’s football was Fulham v Brentford, two teams that I photograph regularly, with Fulham looking to secure Automatic Promotion & Brentford looking for a play-off place, it was always going to end up being a draw.

A first…

07/04/2018. Brentford FC v Ipswich Town, SkyBet Championship Action from Griffin Park Brentford’s Neal MAUPAY celebrates after scoring from the penalty spot

Today was the first game this year that I haven’t required either a coat, gloves &/or waterproofs. Brentford won against Ipswich & it would have appeared that a number of the tractor boys are no longer fans of Mick McCarthy.

Think Tank

I have used Think Tank gear for a number of years and rate them very highly, not only are their products excellent, the Customer Service is beyond reproach.

Think Tank Artificial Intelligence 13 v 3Laptop bag

Having been downsized my laptop a year or so back, I finally got around to replacing the Think Tank Laptop bag with one the correct size. Having a 13″ laptop in a 15″ case always felt wrong & seeing as the strap had definitely seen better days, it was time to upgrade.

Whilst I was there I thought I may as well get the accreditation pouches as well, seeing as I am constantly hunting through my pockets for them (especially at Brentford).
