And another great win

Guildford City faced Windsor at the Spectrum on Saturday, and put on a great display for the home fans, winning 2-1, although it wasn’t all plain sailing, but some good attacking football, conceding a goal made things a little jittery towards the end, but the team showed great spirit.

Prior to the game we also did some team H&S photos for the website & programmes as well as the local media.

Another Great Win

Another away day, another game completed with only 10 men on the pitch & another win. Guildford’s replacement keeper, after Luke Badiali broke two bones in his hand last week was the Monserate shot stopper, who got sent off in a ridiculous refereeing decision after 60 minutes.

However, City prevailed running out 2-4 winners after an amazing penalty save by replacement, replacement goal keeper Shay Morally who volunteered to go between the sticks. Shay went on to make several more great saves, and the one occasion when he was caught out, Darryl Siaw made a phenomenal goal line clearance.

City are full of confidence after beating two teams  that are in the top 10 in the league only been defeated once in the last 7 games. They next host Windsor FC at the Spectrum.

Victory At Hanworth

City Celebrate 3rd Goal

An away trip on a weekday night isn’t often as much fun as this, after a spate of draws, Guildford notch up an impressive 1-3 victory against high flying Hanworth Villa, despite being reduced to 10 men by a ridiculous refereeing decision.

In what was a hard fought game, City could & probably should have won by a greater margin, however 3 goals, 3 points & an improvement in goal-diference are not to be sniffed at.

Disappointingly the City goalkeeper managed to break two bones in his hand, prior to a stunning penalty save & also saving the follow up, so will be sidelined for a while, which is a shame as he has been in great form.

Next City visit Colliers Wood United on Saturday.

It’s been a while but this weekend saw me back at my home team for the first time in ages, despite a battling performance City only managed a draw when really they should have taken all the points, having been unable to convert their chances, hitting the woodwork & the Hayes Goalkeeper making numerous outstanding saves. In the second half after having gone 0-1 down, they went down to 10 men. However the City Goal Machine Matt Anton equalised at the death.

City will rue their missed chances, but they battled to the very end, long after some of the fans had settled for a defeat.

The weekend saw me with 3 jobs in the diary, however the weather put paid to one of them, and another rained off game meant that another photographer had no jobs, so he covered the Rugby match leaving me to do the surviving football match.

Despite the sunshine it was still bloody chilly. A five goal thriller that Molesey just edged.
