big-tom According to the Daily Express:

‘A Conservative MP has admitted sending a letter to Lord Mandelson in which the Business Secretary was referred to as “Mr Mandelweasel”.
Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner said the bizarre comment was “a bit of a boob” for which he accepted responsibility.

The message, on Mr Turner’s official Commons notepaper but not signed by the MP, was sent by his office when it forwarded a constituent’s letter raising concerns about the Digital Economy Bill.

The original letter referred to Lord Mandelson as “Herr Dictator Mandelweasel”, and an unnamed member of Mr Turner’s staff appears to have copied the name without correcting it.

Mr Turner said: “We all make mistakes sometimes. This is obviously a bit of a boob – and I hold my hands up.”‘

I am sorry, I can’t see a mistake or a boob here, can you?

9 Sept 2006. Tony Blair arriving at Congress House.

I am glad to see that Tony B’Liar is back in domestic politics, to help the “swing voters” make up their mind.

I am convinced that it will help to drive them all towards the Tories. He spent most of his speech “upping” Fat Bastard, yet I am sure most of the great unwashed will remember the bitter acrimony between the two before he stood down.

Well Done to Gordon Brown and B’Liar. Only good thing was that we didn’t have to witness the the ugly cow as well.

Bloody Annoying

Picked up a brand new Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG HSM lens recently to replace one that was stolen by ParcelForce, First time out in anger with it on Saturday, and the lens is almost completely un-useable, except possibly as a door stop.

Having raved about the previous version that had, I am prepared to give it the benefit of doubt, and say that it might be just a dodgy one that has slipped through the quality assuarance process. It is also not as quick to AF as the previous one, even with a sticky motor.

Bloody Useless AF

The picture is an example of how far out this lens is, every thing shot with my Canon Glass is spot on, but the Sigma is way off, with both bodies. Here is a section of the image, now baring in mind that I was using Servo AF, 400ISO, 1/6400 sec at F2.8, and the womble was barely managing walking pace, I don’t think that it is user error, in-fact as it happened in nearly 200 photographs I know that it isn’t.

Pleased To Report

sigma120300f2.8That today I took delivery of a factory fresh replacement Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DX APO HSM lens to replace the one that the thieving bastards at ParcelForce nicked. There have been some changes since the last review that I wrote for the lens, I will have a look and see if there has been any performance enhancements.

Thieving Bastards

sigma120300f2.8Sent my Sigma 120-300 F2.8 for a service, as the AF Motor was a bit sticky, and on it’s way back, via Parcelforce, it has gone missing, it is now 14 days late, no proof of delivery and it is not in their network, so some thieving bastard has had it away.

If anyone is offered a Canon Fit Sigma 120-300 F2.8 EX DG HSM with a Sigma 105mm Skylight, TS41 tripod mount and no lens caps, for silly money please let me know, I will post the serial number when I can get hold of it.

Now I have to go through the process of getting ParcelForce to pay out for a replacement.
