From Paul Burgman 18 July 2009 Library Picture Sarah Kennedy Leaving BBC Radio 2 recently. Radio 2 presenter Sarah Kennedy has been chastised by the BBC for praising right-wing politician Enoch Powell during her show. During her early-morning show on Wednesday, Kennedy, 59, described Powell as 'the best prime minister this country never had'. Paul Burgman/PressPhotosUK.com 075 88 66 9580
I had to photograph Mrs Kennedy a while back for the Sunday Mirror, who were planning a story about how haggard and run down she looked, due to excessive drinking and the such like. On the way to grab a snatch of her I listened to her radio show, and I have say that I thought that she must be pissed, I have never heard so much incoherent load of bollox in my life.
Talk about bollocks – that is your comment on Sarah Kennedy’s broadcasting. I’ve listened for years to her morning show, enjoying her natural style, sense of humour and individuality. She is the only female DJ I have ever managed to listen to. Since her departure I have only occasionally turned to Radio 2 in the morning. Aled is acceptle but nothing special, followed by flavour of the year Chris Evans who is more suited to Radio 1. What is wrong with catering for middle aged, middle England?
Like the above I listened to Sarah Kennedy for years and enjoyed her
style. Since she left I now listen to radio 4. It seems the people who run radio two who worship Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand are oblivious to the fact that middle aged and the older generation listen to radio two too however our likes and dislikes are disregarded.
Like the previous responses I miss listening to Sarah Kennedy immensely she was just brilliant first thing in the morning with all her stories also passing on information about books, theatre visits and her travels I used to get ready for work while listening to her programme every morning, now I am retired I occasionally listen to Chris Evans for the last hour I am slowly getting used to him but he still shouts!!!! I wish Bunty all the best she is very much missed.
Still missing Sarah Kennedy, I don’t listen to the radio anymore, really enjoyed being awakened with a smile and a laugh, she had that special something. I wish you all the very best Sarah, you deserve it.
Miss Sarah Kenedy don’t listen to radio any more
