Bloody BBC

The BBC who have a bad reputation (deservedly so) for copyright grabbing any images that are supplied to them, either by Joe Public or from Professional News Photographers, have been shown in their true colours today. The wife of Bob Monkhouse, who died of Prostate Cancer, four years ago, has blasted the Beeb for charging £3,250 for the rights to use library footage of Bob for a new advertising campaign for the Prostrate Cancer Research Foundation charity. Yet on News24 today they used 10 or so photographs supplied by a viewer of the flooding that occurred in Wakefield, Yorks. I bet I can guess how much they have offered her! Whilst these photographs were not of the highest order they have value, they must have as the BBC have been running them in every news bulletin since they received them. You can bet they will be syndicating them as well
